Nice to hear you are improving your skills and knowledge. And there are some mistakes described which probably most of us did once in their pilot career. So, no worry about. The most important thing is that you keep learning. See you soon in the virtual sky!

    Hey Amos

Doesn't sound to me as something unusual - just the normal hickups that can happen to anyone.

Just remember: IF IN DOUBT, ASK! As you did.

Without an adequate scenery, it is not even wrong to ask for "progressive taxi instructions", so the Apron Controller will give you turn by turn on the ground.

    Benvenuto!
    Gruss,
    HP.

    Hi Amos,

Thanks for this detailed report! It encourages me to finally get my IFR wings on ... am still somewhat "scared" to try this and have been "hiding" in my VFR planes a lot recently. Somebody once told me that IFR is "easier" than VFR ... can't really see that right now, but am still gathering the courage to try out "the other side".

Since Mark and I had the chance to fly the A320 at iPilot.ch yesterday I'm itching to put the experience to use on the A320 neo as soon as possible. Don't worry guys, will stay offline for now!

I couldn't agree more on one thing, though: the guys (and gals, sorry Therese!) at vACC.ch are great and so helpful. I've been a VATSIM member for many years, but only this year actually got up the nerve to start flying ... don't know why I waited so long and wish I hadn't!

Speak to you on TS and hear you on XSquawkBox soon!

Thanks, HP! I do mean just until I get the first few IFR flights with a 'big bird' under my belt. Then I'll be back in force ... mistakes and all. Promise! Tried my new found A320 knowledge yesterday and failed miserably, but am certainly not giving up.

    Thanks again for feedback.

Some question, mostly related to the game (X-Plane)

-What scenery do you use for LSGG?
-Also I see (majority of the) other planes about 50ft above the ground when taxiin. Is this normal as FS-Xplane interaction?
    Asus Z87-K, Intel i7-4770k, nVidia GeForce GTX770, 16GB RAM DDR3, 250GB SSD, 3.0TB HDD.
Saitek Pro Flight: Yoke, Rudder Pedals, Throttle Quadrant, Multi Panel, Radio Panel, Switch Panel.
    Windows 8.1, X-Plane 10 64bit, Boeing x737-800. Comm via Logitech G930.

That's a known issue between X-Plane and FSX (as far as I know) ... we all have the same issue. As for LSGG, I'm sure our scenery-gurus will be able to help...

    We can discuss this privately

Depending on the Scenery- and Mesh-Data you use, aircrafts will be hovering in the sky or seem buried in the soil. This aswell is easier to explain in TS. If you use default Scenery, the probability to experience these shifts is signifcantly larger than if you'd use e.g. the Airsoft Scenery for LSZH.
