The name Nelson Mandela has become synonymous with the phrase "The long walk to freedom" and one of his many strengths was his ability unite people from all over the world in a common goal. In this spirit, VATSAF would like to unite the VATSIM community by hosting a marathon event to commemorate and celebrate the life, times and legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

For 16 hours, the South African airspace will be manned by local and international controllers to welcome pilots from everywhere and anywhere, to fly into South Africa, depart from South Africa or fly between any local airports.

PILOTS: Charts and local procedures are available at http://www.vatsaf.com. Please be advised that King Shaka International Airport (FALE) is not default scenery on any of the existing simulators and must be installed as add on scenery. Freeware scenery is available for most airports from AVSIM and FLIGHTSIM with Payware scenery from SIMMARKET.
