Hi,
I'm just starting out in VACC but have years of experience with FS offline.
Would someone be kind to guide me through the first steps in the online world?
What to download? What to read first? How to connect?
And especially how not land on anyone already parked in a Gate?

You can answer in German if you wish, I will do the translation.

I'm using ifly737 and have aerosoft LSZH mega airport.

I have translated Mr. Thomas post. Yes, I have almost never flown online.
It would be great if you could take me through the basics.

With two babies it is very hard to manipulae time but I will look forward to
hearing back from you, if Saturday night could be an option to start online training.

I will read the documents and download Teamspeak.

thanks for the update...I've tried already with TS3 and didn't work it..so I thought it was my mistake....well I'm going to install TS2 instead.

Btw I am a newbie at VATSIM and finally I do have plentty of time to get real into it, but as Yves has send me a message that VATSIM germany is now reponsible now also for Switzerland. So please can you give me the link for this forum ?

Hi Manfred,

That is correct. VATSIM Germany provides now the training service for virtual pilots for our vACC.
You find the forum corner of the Pilot Training Department here: http://board.vacc-sag.org/13/. First of all, have a look at the thread "Wichtige Themen des PTD" where you find the most important informations.
If you don't have a VATSIM Germany account already, you will have to register here: http://www.vacc-sag.org/. If you are asked for the RG (Regionalgruppe), choose just "Pilot only". You will then get the access rights for the VATSIM Germany forum, your membership will not be changed.

Hi Jonas thank you for your quick respond.No I am not registerd yet in vatsim germany just at vatsim switzerland. so i still need to register at vatsim germany even though i am registerd at vatsim switzerland?

Hi there

It is not required to have an account on vACC Germany to get access to the Pilot Training System.

If you are a vACC Switzerland registered Pilot thats fine.

Nevertheless, it may be advantageous to register with VATGER's forum in order to participate in the discussion threads of the course.
But then, you should register there as a Visitor/Pilot.

ok thank you both of you....I've get all info I need to go on with my first training lesson. Just feel kinda weird because I use to fly ever like BOEING 747-400 or now MD-11 / IFly BOEING 737-900ER in IFR Mode and now I have to start my first lesson with a Real Cessna :-)
It's gonna be funny for sure:-)

Just as last. Is it a problem if I register in the future my flight with SR.... ? You know my heart still goes on with SWISSAIR!

None at all - you surely aren't alone with the feelings for Swissair.
However it may be helpful to the Controllers if you'd put "C/S=SwissAIR" or such into your Flight plan remarks.

Doesn't guarantee that it works, but may help.

Hi Manfred,

because in operation (real and virtual) we use only ICAO abbreviations (3-letter) for the callsign, I strongly recommend you to use SWR. Depending on the controllers knowledge about callsigns and electronical help he won't perhaps know your callsign use SIERRA ROMEO instead (happens not in Switzerland).
For me as a controller, the use of the IATA abbreviation also is a sign for a newbie pilot who didn't get through the basic rules. It doesn't help for your reputation. You can try to get the controllers use SWISSAIR as the callsign when you make the initial call, but I think most of them will use SWISS anyway.

Hello Fellows, just need your help once more.regarding doing the ptf1 test you have told me that vatsim germany is doing these test. so i visit their forum but it seems thei even don't know when next ptd1 will be held. so my question is, is there any other option to complete the test?

thanks for your reply..I just thought because I do have plentty of free time at the moment so I thought I could do the ptd1 test now.As I've said already, even vatsim germany doesen't know when next course will be held. Other suggestion. Is it possible to do it some where else? I mean outside europe?

I hope you understand my rush than I really looking forward to be involved in vatsim switzerland. offline flights are ok, buut with all the years, I am looking get into virtual action.
