Dear pilots, in the manner of real Czech event Hot Pepper`s Aerobatic Freestyle Challenge 2012 we would like to invite you to our virtual aerobatic party which takes place at Letňany airport where you will get an opportunity to check your freestyle aerobatic skills. In addition to that pilots who will be able to make a video footage (either during their flight or from flightsim replay after disconnecting from vatsim) and upload it to youtube can win a real prize (surprise).
When? Saturday 16th June 2012, 18-20Z
Where? Letňany airport, LKLT
Charts? Standard airport charts of Letňany + special chart for the event are here
Scenery here
Task You will fly a freestyle flight - it means that you do not have to report to somebody which manoeuvres you want to fly, in which order and what your flight will look like. Remember that you fly for spectators so try to make your flight as impressive as possible. The only limitation for you will be the airspace for the aerobatic preview (called aerobatic box, see charts).
Evaluation and prizes Everyone who only wants to fly for fun with us is welcome. But pilots who will manage to make a video (either directly from their flight or later from flightsim replay AFTER DISCONNECTING FROM VATSIM) from footage or from screenshots and upload it to youtube will join our competition. All videos from competitors will be placed here into our forum and to our VACC-CZ facebook page. The one who gets the most of thumbs up (likes) on youtube until the end of evaluation will be our winner. In the case of equality of points the number of views on youtube will decide about the winner.
The end of competition and announcement of results will be on Saturday 30th June at 18Z.
The content of packages/prizes for winners which will be sent by post is secret.
Suitable aircraft is whichever aerobatic aircraft. You can easily use the default FS Extra 300 or get another plane for example from avsim.
Flying rules during the event
- During all flights the VFR rules have to be respected and all real flying regulations have to be taken into account.
- During the whole competition flight pilot has to be on frequency of Letnany INFORMATION 120.32 (available in Czech or English language, according to pilot´s preferences).
- The pilot will be reported his estimated time of take off by the event organizer using the private chat. The estimated time of take off will be usually 3 - 4 minutes prior to beginning of the aerobatic preview. Pilot is obliged to start up and taxi on time in order to be ready at holding point of active runway at his estimated time of take off. When airborne pilot will continue to the holding area (see charts) and start holding there. After the instruction "cleared to box" from Letnany INFORMATION pilot will terminate holding and continue directly to aerobatic box where he will start his aerobatic preview. If a smoke system is installed on the aircraft pilot will switch it on at this time and keep it on during the whole preview.
- From the aerobatic box clearance the organizer will start 5 minutes countdown. After the countdown the pilot will be asked by Letnany INFORMATION by phrase "end of display" to terminate his competition flight. The pilot will end his present aerobatic maneuver, switch the smoke system (if installed) and by one whole traffic pattern continue on final of active runway. During the approach and landing the pilot is requested to pay attention for the next competition aircraft which will be taking off at this time.
- During all the operations at Letnany airport pilot will keep caution not to enter CTR Ruzyne (LKPR) or TMA Praha which are in close vicinity and where normal IFR traffic will be operating.
Registration of the competitor is not necessary but is recommended. If it is possible, please register yourself here in this discussion board and write us your expected aircraft type.
During the whole competition the live picture broadcast will be online for our spectators. I hope that I will manage to install video streaming software, but if not at least picture streaming will be provided.
