Goodbye Tegel
Berlin-Tegel – der kleine Hauptstadtairport, wo es auch mal eng werden konnte, die Piloten und Controller jedoch immer ihren Spaß hatten, schließt nun für immer.
Nach jahrelanger Planung und Durchführung vom neuen Hauptstadtairport BER steht dieser nun kurz vor der Vollendung. Damit ist nun die Zeit gekommen, goodbye Tegel zu sagen.
Natürlich möchte sich auch die RG Berlin von ihrem geliebten Majorairport verabschieden und lädt daher alle Piloten am 01. Juni 2012 von 16.00 bis 22.00 UTC ein, die das ebenfalls tun möchten. Genießt mit uns die letzten Starts und Landungen auf unserem Berliner Otto-Lilienthal-Airport.
Ein bisschen Wehmut mitzubringen kann nicht schaden, denn mit der Schließung am Abend des 02. Juni geht endgültig das Licht für den zivilen Flugbetrieb aus und auch ein Stück Hauptstadtgeschichte ist für immer zu Ende.
Aber wie es so ist im Leben: irgendwann interessiert weniger das, was war, als das, was sein wird. Auch, wenn viele nur schwer loslassen können, ist klar: der neue Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg wird ebenfalls seine ganz eigene Geschichte schreiben. Anfangen werden wir damit am 03. Juni zum Eröffnungsevent und erwarten dann in den kommenden Tagen sehr viel Traffic. Wie die Zukunft dann genau aussehen wird, wird sich zeigen. Wir freuen uns jedenfalls darauf.
Wir bedanken uns bei Tegel und allen Piloten, die diesen schönen Airport besucht haben, für eine wunderbare Zeit, die wir so schnell nicht vergessen werden.

Goodbye Tegel
Berlin Tegel, the capital city airport with limited space will close forever, despite the fun it brought for both pilots and controllers.
After years of planing , the construction of Berlin's new airport BER comes close to an end. The time has come to say goodbye to Tegel.
Of course, the RG Berlin wants to say farewell to their beloved major airport. We invite everyone who feels the same to accompany us on June 1, 2012 from 16.00 until 22.00 UTC. Lets enjoy the last departures and landings on Berlin's Otto-Lilienthal airport.
Don't fear to be wistful: While the airport will close in the night of June 2, the chapter of civil aviation in Tegel is closed and a piece of Berlin's aviation history has finally come to an end.
Though that's how life is. Sometimes the past isn't as interesting as the future. It will be difficult to let go of such a special place as Tegel. Nevertheless, the new airport BER, will write its own stories. The first one being it's opening Event on June 3 and hopefully much traffic in the following days. We will see what the future has for us, and are definitely looking forward to our new airport!
We thank Tegel and everyone who has visited this beautiful place. It was a wonderful time which we will never forget.
