VATSIM United Kingdom invites you to spend the evening with the Heathrow Air Traffic Controllers, on the evening of Friday 24th February starting at 1900 GMT and finishing no later than 2100 GMT. This is open to every pilot, of every division and virtual airline.
The reason why we are holding this evening is to help pilots understand what is going on behind the scenes at VATSIM's busiest airport. We hope to provide considerable insight into our operation and explain the reason behind some of the more obscure requests that we regularly ask of pilots.
We are not intending to teach anybody how to control, instead inform, educate and hopefully entertain those who wish to learn a little more about the airport that VATSIM's pilots fly from most regularly.
This evening will involve a presentation, hosted and delivered on our Team Speak 3 server.
Hosted by Samuel James, Heathrow RTS Manager and Tom Bewick, Heathrow RTS Instructor, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask those questions that you've always wanted to know the answer to.
There is no need to RSVP your attendance, please just connect to the VATUK Team Speak 3 server around 1845 GMT and find your own way to the room, "Meet the controllers: Heathrow".
VATUK utilises sophisticated teamspeak access software which connects to your VATSIM CID and password. Please get yourself set up with VATUK's teamspeak well in advance to avoid disappointment due to technical difficulties. This can be done here:

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with me. pilot.training@vatsim-uk.co.uk
On behalf of VATUK and the Heathrow RTS, we look forward to welcoming you to our Division and hope you enjoy this presentation and find it informing.
