Liebe Freunde,

mit raschen Schritten nähert sich schon wieder ein Zeitpunkt, an dem es Vergangenes zu rekapitulieren und Zukünftiges zu planen gilt.
Im letzten Jahr wünschte ich mir "out of turbulences into smooth air" zu kommen. Ich glaube, das ist gut geglückt - es ist ruhig.
Manchmal für mich fast zu ruhig. Ich wünsche mir zwar weiss Gott keine Streitereien, aber etwas mehr Aktivität, real life wie online, wären durchaus wünschbar. Meldet Euch beim Staff, wenn Ihr gute Ideen habt, was man auch noch anstellen könnte!

Was sind die nächsten Highlights?

• Einführung GRP 2.1
  Mit der neuen Global Rating Policy von VATSIM gibt es etliche Änderungen in unserem Ausbildungssystem für vController; Mike hat darüber bereits informiert. Um ein rascheres Erreichen der nächsten Stufe (besonders für S1 -> S2) zu ermöglichen, werden etliche Zwischentests abgeschafft. Dies gilt auch für alle pre-CPTs. An ihre Stelle treten Tests, die auf unserer Homepage abgelegt werden können. Desweiteren werden die CPTs nicht mehr als krönender Abschluss, sondern als Initialzündung einer Stufe verstanden und somit nach wenigen Stunden Praxis abgelegt.
• Statuten
  Seit ziemlich langer Zeit sind wir in Verhandlung mit den übergeordneten VATSIM-Instanzen, um die vACC Schweiz in einen gesetzlich vernünftigen Rahmen, sprich: einen Verein überführen zu dürfen. Dieses Ansinnen, welches erstmals rundweg abgelehnt wurde, ist nun dank Toms Überzeugungsarbeit endlich so weit, dass in den nächsten Tagen die überarbeiteten Statuten zur Vernehmlassung bereit stehen.
• Events
  Im 2012 werden wir offiziell einen zweiten Onlinetag einführen, und zwar den Freitag. In Kooperation mit der vACC France wird es den "Latitudinal Friday" geben, an dem wir abwechselnd die mittelgrossen Flugplätze staffen werden, und einmal monatlich gibt es eine Etappe der VFR- "Tour de Suisse".
  Beides ist aber nur möglich und sinnvoll mit reichlich Beteiligung von Piloten und Controllern. Also auf hinter den Knüppel und ans Scope!
• RL-Meetings
  Erfreulicherweise gleich drei Anlässe zeichnen sich im Januar ab,
  - Im Zürcher Oberland,
  - in St. Gallen und
  - in Freiburg im Breisgau, organisiert durch die Kollegen aus Süddeutschland.
  Beachtet die Threads im Forum, meldet Euch an - Es gibt sicher wie üblich auch Mitfahrgelegenheiten auf Anfrage.

Nun bleibt mir nur noch, Euch und Euren Lieben ein schönes Weihnachtsfest, viel Gesundheit, eine Prise Humor und einen guten Rutsch in ein erfolgreiches 2012 zu wünschen.

Dear friends,


In a fast pace, time is approaching for making a résumé from the past and plans for the future.
A year ago, I wished myself to come "out of turbulences into smooth air". I think that goal is achieved, everything is quiet now.
Sometimes even too quiet for me. For sure, I don't need any ugly debates but a little more activity - real life and online - are desireable indeed. Contact the staff if you have a good idea what could be done, too!


What are the next highlights?

• GRP 2.1 introduction
  With VATSIM's new Global Rating Policy, there will be siginificant changes to our training system for vATCos. Mike has already informed about. In order to reach the next level (specially S1 -> S2) faster, several intermediate tests are purged. This is true also for all pre-CPTs. They will be replaced by tests that can be taken on our homepage. Furthermore, the CPTs will no more be the crowning final of a training stage, but the initial ignition after a few hours of practice.
• Bylaws
  Since quite a long time, we are discussing with our superior VATSIM organisations for transferring vACC Switzerland in a legally reasonable form, i.e. an association, a club. This intention, at first glance completely refused, has now - thanks to Toms intensive debates - taken enough progress that we'll be able to publish a proposal to our members in the next few days.
• Events
  In 2012, we are going to establish a second online day which will be Friday. In Co-operation with vACC France, there will be "Latitudinal Fridays", at which our mid-sized airfields will be staffed, and once a month, there'll be one leg of our VFR "Tour de Suisse".
  But: Both events are only possible and making sense with plenty of pilots and controllers. So - swing your stern behind yoke and scope!
• RL Meetings
  I'm happy to see that no less than three events are showing up in january:
  - at the Zürcher Oberland,
  - at St. Gallen and
  - at Freiburg im Breisgau, organized by our friends from Southern Germany.
  Have a look at the threads in our forum, as usual, there will be the occasion to take a ride along upon request.

For now, it only remains to wish you and your loved a merry christmas, much health, a bunch of good sense of humour and a happy 2012.
