    Default [30 OCT | 17-22z | HCMM] Maximum Mogadishu!

    Liebe Kollegen,

    VATSIM Central Africa Presents:
    MAXIMUM MOGADISHU!

    On Sunday, October 30th, our specially trained controllers will open up Somalia's only international airport for full five hours! We invite you to experience VATSIM in a whole new way! Mogadishu International is the only major airport in Somalia and is frequently closed due to the ongoing conflict in this region. This day will be your chance to experience this region and explore eastern Africa. Our controllers will be setting up a portable radar station and will feature Radar Approaches into Mogadishu International's single runway. The final Director controller will guide you to the runway. All pilots and airlines are invited to fly in, but we highly recommend equipment appropriate to this airspace. RNAV is a must as there are no radio navigation aids available. ATC will include approach and director plus center. We invite you to fly and enjoy Mogadishu! If you have any questions or need help with a route, our controllers will be on hand to help you in.

    Liebe Kollegen,

    SRA - PAR.
    In order to perform an approach SRA (Surveillance Radar Approach), on the radar screen must indicate the final approach path and distances from the point of contact, usually in the form of "VIDEO MAP".
    In addition, the controller must be in possession of information which the value of the OCA/H, levels and suggested the crossing of various distances.
    Although an approach SRA will never reach the accuracy of the PAR, the controller will have groped to position the aircraft as close as possible to the end, using a technique of control over the azimuthal plane similar to that used by the controllers radar precision.
    Below is the phraseology used by controllers and pilots.
    The aim is to give pilots the option of partaking in the evolution of the procedure and make the right adjustments to get home even if the weather is adverse.
    I wish everyone to have fun.

    P= Pilot / C= Controller.
