VACC Austria invites you to join our "Alpine Approaches" series. Each event is featuring a special kind of approach into one of our alpine airports in Austria.
Salzburg Airport (LOWS) is Austria’s second largest international airport. On VATSIM Salzburg is outshined by its neighbour Innsbruck with its famous approaches next to mountain cliffs. Most pilots overlook that Salzburg also features interesting approaches. Due to mountainous terrain in the south of the aerodrome, approaches were only possible from the north for a long time. Some years ago a satellite-based “curved approach” was published for arrivals from the south to runway 33. This “RNAV (RNP) Z RWY 33”-approach will be featured in our event.
VACC Austria provides you with a comprehensive pilot’s briefing to facilitate participation in the event for first time “RNAV-approachers”.
