    Default CTP2016, controlling or flying?

Hey guys, I'm on the fence about making a booking for the CTP tomorrow, mostly because I would very much like to be controlling for the event (time-wise it's perfect), but I'm unsure whether I'd be ready to control for then, in which case I'd just as much like to fly (I missed westbound).

Is it reasonable to expect that I would be able to be controlling by then? And how likely is it that there are going to be any stations for me to be on?

    Cheers,
    Alasdair

    Hey Alasdair

CTP will fly into Zürich. You're due for your Ground Intro in Geneva, Zürich is still a ways away training-wise so unless theres a special exception I dont know about for CTP that would allow you to control Zürich then you won't be able to control, so I'd try to grab a flight slot!
If you're certified for LSGG_GND until the CPT then you might get a couple of diverted planes so that might be worth while as well.
    Hope that answers your question!

    Cheers

    Pascal

In all honesty, it's highly unlikely that you'll have approvals to control at the CTP.
Our waiting list is extensive with your request being in the bottom thrid of all requests for training.

Instead of putting this in a way that might evoke hopes or even beliefs, that you will be able to control, I'll just be blunt and say that if I were you, I'd try and snatch a pilot slot for this CTP.

I'd also like to point out that we have applicants for the ATC-TD who are in the evaluation process at the moment and could be a strongly needed addition to the team of mentors we presently have. If all goes well, we should see more lesson offers in the near future.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know, I thought I might as well ask since I don't really know how you guys are doing with the training backlog.

For what it's worth, if you are still in need of any help in the training department, I'd be more than willing to help, I quite enjoy teaching, but I'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself with that...

    Now, to book that slot...
