We make it happen! Zurich Airport will be open on June 25th during the real operating hours!

Be the first one to touch down as IFR-traffic on runway 34 at 0600 local time. If you are early, expect to join the holding with the other early morning inbounds until we are allowed to let you approach the airport. A picture seen at Zurich every morning …

As VFR traffic, explore the beautiful mountaineous Swiss landscape just minutes south of Zurich. Fly to Samedan for a delicious nut cake at the highest airliner airport in Europe and enjoy the breathtaking view of the alps. When returning, be prepared to get close to the big birds! Zurich still handles both, VFR and IFR traffic, unlike other European majors.

Zurich is a unique airport with a lot of operational restrictions due to noise abatement and its challenging layout. We know it by heart and love this airport with all its rough edges.

VATSIM Germany Statistics Center im Eventzeitraum hat 173 Departures und 180 Arrivals gezählt.

ein grosses ans organisieren und die teilnehmenden ATCO's und Piloten.

Gemäss derselben Quelle war Zürich gestern auch der Verkehrsreichste Flughafen auf dem gesamten VATSIM Netzwerk, mit ungefähr 60 Flugbewegungen von Los Angeles und satten 216 vor Heathrow auf Platz Drei.

Vielen Dank an alle Teilnehmenden ATCOs, es war aus Pilotensicht eines der besten Events die ich erleben durfte.

Es wurden in LSZH während der Eventdauer 359 Bewegungen registriert, was 50% der täglichen Durchschnittsbewegungen des realen Flughafens Zürich entspricht (Statistik 2015) oder anders gesagt, eine Bewegung alle drei Minuten.
Mark und ich sind begeistert von diesem Ergebnis!

Wir möchten uns bei allen ganz herzlich bedanken, die zum Gelingen dieses einzigartigen Events beigetragen haben!
Danke an die Piloten für die zahlreichen Flüge, unseren ATCOs für den unermüdlichen Einsatz und für die Unterstützung bei der Planung und Promotion dieses Events!
Ihr habt Zürich wahrlich für den ganzen Tag zum Leben erweckt!

Dear Pilots, ATCOs, entire Community

During the event time we registered 359 movements which amounts to 50% of the average daily real life movements at Zurich! In other words we had an arrival or a departure every three minutes over the entire day.
Mark and I are stoked over this turnout!

We would like to thank everybody who contributed to this fantastic event! The pilots for your numerous flights, the ATCOs for your tireless hours spent controlling as well as in the planning and promoting of the event.
All of you really did bring Zürich to life for a day on VATSIM!

We are already looking forward to the next edition of “Zürich Real Operating Hours”!
