Looking for the perfect mix between high traffic and a challenging airport? Last Friday night of the month? Put your kids to bed or place them in the right seat and start your engines, as vACC Switzerland hosts a new edition of one of its most popular events at Geneva International Airport (LSGG). Let us prove to you that size is less important than skill; with a single concrete runway, our controllers face the challenge of getting the timing just right in order to clear you to land just seconds after departing traffic’s gear has left the ground. Needless to say, expect late landing clearances.


Waiting at the holding point? Get ready to line up behind landing traffic or perform a rolling takeoff, as there is bound to be traffic on short final waiting for that late call from Tower.


We are fully staffed and ready to get you in and out safely, one by one. We are up to the challenge, are you? If so, look out for the chain of landing lights on the ILS in Geneva, every last Friday of the month from 18:00z to 20:00z.

Danke allen Teilnehmern! War ein schönes Event und hat gezeigt, dass auch Genf Traffic anlocken kann. :)

Für das nächste Mal wünschte ich mir noch ein, zwei Controller mehr für Final und die feinere Aufsplittung der Genfer Lower Radar, dann hätte Mauro nicht schon alles in der Osthälfte CTR zurückbehalten müssen.
Aber wir arbeiten dran... :D

Aus Pilotensicht war es super...

Arrival: Endlich mal ein Holding in Genf ohne Trainingsrequest ;) Leider hat nach dem Touchdown meine GraKa den Load nicht mehr ausgehalten und X-Plane ging in die Knie. Sollte sich mit neuer GraKa (ASUS GTX Titan Black (GK110, 6GB) und 16GB Ram lösen dadada

Departure: War ein wenig Chaotisch, aber dies kann ja ab und zu vorkommen B-)

Ein grosses :merci:an alle Controller und Piloten, freue mich schon auf den nächsten LSGG One by One Event. Eventuell dann als LSGG TWR hehehe

Dieser Ansturm war nicht vorauszusehen, da an den bisherigen Lat-Fridays normales Volumen online war. Habt ihr in Genf was gratis angeboten ? Von LSZH_APP aus drehten Flieger im Holding schon bei ULMES. Voll krass.
Ihr Genfer ATCo's habt das super hingekriegt.

Mit diesem Banner und dem PR B-)habe ich nichts geringeres erwartet. Ein riesen Dankeschön an alle Controller und Piloten, die dazu beitrugen, diesen Online-Day zu einem Erfolg zu verhelfen. Es war eine geniales Gefühl im QuteScoop den Magentafarbenen Kreis in LSGG Zürich streifen zu sehen. Weit und breit zog kein anderer Airport an diesem Abend so viel Traffic an wie LSGG.

Hat Spass gemacht trotz NAV Problems direkt nach dem Start in ZRH (merci Thomas, da resetet doch der liebe Airbus das FMS genau nach V1...). Der Entscheid nach kurzem Troubleshooting nach Genf weiterzufliegen und über ULMES ein paar Runden zuf drehen war genau richtig!

und wenn wir den Zeitraum noch auf 17:30z bis 21:30z ausweiten (Zeitraum zu dem Ich Online war und bis die letzten Piloten aus den Holdings gelandet waren) waren es sogar 37 Arrivals. Es tut mir leid für die Startenden Piloten die zum Teil im Chaos ein bisschen untergegangen sind. Hier wäre ein DEP nützlich gewesen. Es reicht einfach manchmal ein Pilot der nicht rechtzeitig reagiert und schon rennt man allem hinterher. Zum Teil musste ich descents und Turns 3 mal sagen bis etwas geschah. Aber grössten Teils haben die Piloten gut mit gemacht. Danke für einen Abend der wirklich im Flug vorbeigegangen ist.

Auch wenn (weil offensichtlich von einem ankommenden Piloten) GND nicht aufgeführt ist, gilt mein Merci auch für Dich. :)

Ich selber kam zu spät heim, um noch ATC machen zu können und ging deshalb tief und langsam fliegen auf die Legs Genf-Basel-Züri.

Die Perlenkette Richtung ILS war schon sehr imposant! :10:

I was really impressed with the ATC during the event today! Professional, quick, accurate. And you managed the traffic load amazingly with the B departures off 23... made for an interesting final. I really enjoyed flying into and out of Geneva. I'll definitely be coming back soon.

Hallo allerseits!

Ich war heute das erste Mal bei Eurem Event, und es war phänomenal! Die Ankündigung hatte nicht zuviel versprochen: Flieger auf dem ILS aufgereiht und am Holding Point standen die Abflugbereiten Schlange.
Schön auch, dass sich nicht alle Piloten gleich ausgeloggt haben, so dass auch auf dem Flughafen selbst mal ein bisschen was los war.

Viel besser als die Events mit mehreren anfliegbaren Pisten, wo man auf der Frequenz kaum jemanden hört, weil alles viel zu fein aufgeteilt ist.

Ich werde gerne wieder kommen!

Danke allen Controllern - da war nicht einer zuviel. :)

Auch von mir herzlichen Dank an alle Controller und natürlich die vielen Piloten. War speziell interessant, mal zu dritt auf Radar zu arbeiten. Ich denke, da ist auch jeder auf seine Kosten gekommen. Es hat richtig "gfägt".
Die APP/DEP Controller taten mir schon fast etwas Leid mit so viel Traffic zu dritt. Ein kleineres Chaos war da wohl fast unvermeidlich. Real würde man soviel Verkehr wahrscheinlich gar nicht planen ...
Das Event hat seinem Namen aber sicherlich wieder alle Ehre gemacht. Man darf gespannt sein auf die nächste Ausgabe!

Grad gesehen, dass sich im Eventtext eine Unstimmigkeit findet... (auf der Events-Seite) Dort steht oben korrekt 19:00 UTC-21:00UTC, unten jedoch noch in Sommerzeit.

Am One-by-one nächsten Freitag will Luca zeigen, was er auf TWR kann.
Vermutlich müssen wir keine Werbung für den CPT mehr machen! :D
Aber um eine Ablösung auf TWR wären wir noch dankbar. :merci:

Stelle ich heute trotzdem noch rein. Da derzeit an sehr vielen Orten in Europa sehr schönes Wetter ist, ziehen die Events eher relativ wenig traffic an. Doppelte Events ziehen immernoch besser. (Solidaritätsgedanken der Piloten).

Weiss noch nicht ob ich da bin für TWR.

Ablösung könnte ich sonst gerne übernehmen, wenn sich niemand anderes meldet.

Danke Luca P. für die Ablösung! Ich werde als OBS zuhören und mein Ohren trainieren. :) Fürs Controllern auf TWR an diesem Event bin ich viel zu wenig sattelfest. Werde noch üben, üben, üben......... ;)

I had problem with my internet provider before the event, I tried to do everything to come and ofcourse to help Luca with his cpt :)
but unfortunately, I was not able to come because of this problem.
I really wanted to help Luca and as well to take a part of this event.. :/

Aye, the Internet obviously was quite unstable yesterday evening.
The other foreign controller on APP was unable to connect, too.
Thanks Mark for taking over! :10: That more or less saved the event(s).

Even Luca had some intermittent voice problems, where I had twice to take over for a couple of seconds.
Anyway, he did a good job and I am proud to congratulate him for the good result.

Thanks to all pilots and fellow controllers. Though the expected mass of traffic didn't show up (not Luca's appareance, but the holidays were the reason I suppose), we had an excellent count of arrivals and departures, enough VFR, even with a gooney bird. :)

Slightly off topic:
@All controllers as a friendly reminder: If you are unable on short notice to stick with your booking,
a) try to cancel it, AND
b) try to inform your fellow controllers, preferably in the ATC coordination thread of this forum.
Specially at events, you not only give your colleagues the chance to step in, the bookings are also important for VATSIM pilots for checking what service to expect.
Remember: It is not necessary to book when you are controlling, but you should try to control whenever you have made a booking!
