[Saturday, 17. December 2011] X-mas Flyin 2011 Budapest

We would like to announce one of our largest annual flyin event organised by us on Vatsim: Budapest Xmas Fly-in 2011! This will be the 10th time the Budapest Xmas Fly-in takes place since 2001 when VACC Hungary held its first large scale event.
Budapest Xmas Fly-in 2011 will take place on the 17th of December 2011, from 0800 UTC until 2000 UTC.

Check out some details what you will have during this fantastic event:
* Full controller coverage at Budapest-Ferihegy International Airport and the upper sectors during the event - yes, we will be online 12 hours or so. And that also means between 7 to 10 controllers online at peak times!
* In addition to the Hungarian ATC coverage, we asked all neighbouring VACCs to provide controller service at the evening around Hungary. During the afternoon you may also expect Eurocontrol East and Maastrich Radar on duty.
* Expeditent slot-based booking system is available at http://www.vacchun.hu/xmas2011/booking.php [1]. If you are planning to participate in the event, do not hesitate to book your own slot as soon as possible.
* For those, who don't know it yet, significant changes were introduced in the Hungarian airspace in May 2008 (e.g. brand-new departure and arrival routes are now in use). * Please notice that the airport is having construction works. New taxiways, stands have been made, and some gates are closed. Here is little summary:
o Gate 39,41 are closed
o New stands were built R110-R117
