RNAV Procedure FIX coordinates

Hello, I've been having problems with X-Plane's FIX database being outdated, particularly around LSZH, most of the RNAV transitions don't exist in the sim. I'd like to update them manually (and maybe provide an update pack to put on the site) but I can't find where to get the coordinates apart from SkyVector. Getting them from there is a bit of a pain and is not always as accurate as I would like.

So I was wandering specifically what the source of the VACC procedures are and if I can access them (for free, I don't intend to purchase the whole AIP just to correct a few FIXes...) or otherwise any suggestions for how to update the data.

Hi Alsadair,

What you seem to be looking for is a current AIRAC Cycle, which will provide you with the most current Waypoints, Airways, Navaids (in the case of X-Plane) and of course SIDs, STARs and Approaches.

You basically have two options. You can go with Navigraph or Aerosoft. However, both options aren't free of charge.
I am unsure, whether a nav.dat for X-Plane exists containing the new transitions in LSZH for example.

Look out if you are going to work with "real life" data from EAD and/or Skyguide.

As you may expect, they are up to date.
Your scenery, even if payware, may not. Even if your FMS is up to date, thanks to the products mentioned above.

Excellent example for this is the ILS frequency for 14 at Zürich, which has recently changed.
If your didn't update your Sim (-Scenery), you'll probably still have to use the old one 108.3... ;)

These are pretty much what I've been looking for. I have already been doing similar conversions from AIP documents into my x-plane nav data for some other airports. Thanks a lot.

As I mentioned above, I usually use the AIP documents, these are usually free and quite accurate. Sometimes just hard to find. Of course it means I have to manually convert most of the data, but I have the time, not the money ;)

Yeah I noticed the LSZH ILS-14 frequency. Thankfully in X-plane the basic nav data is global and completely separate from the actual scenery. This means I can easily add/remove nav data with out having to keep track of it within scenery packages. Simply editing the file I can add, remove, or modify the data.

The only problem is that it is a very basic system. No RNP or any of the more advanced FMS functions, so I need to enter all the relevant fixes for a SID/STAR, which means I often try to ask for RNAV approaches/transitions to be confirmed well in advance, or just try to get vectors if it is possible. Of course, for separate aircraft there are more advanced/realistic systems, but again I'm short on money so this will have to do.
